World Water Day

World Water Day

Celebrating โ€‹โ€‹#WorldWaterDayย on March 22 | Groundwater – Making the Invisible Visible

#Groundwaterย is invisible, but its impact is visible everywhere. The average annual rainfall in Chennai is 1400 mm. Chennai requires just one-third of this rainfall for its needs. As groundwater becomes more and more critical, it is our endeavour to sustainably manage this precious resource.

Effective rain water harvesting ensures Recharging of ground water, Improves Water Table and Water Quality, Avoids Urban Flooding, Maintains Soil Moisture and Minimizes Sea Water Intrusion.

Mr. G. Ramkumar, Retd Executive Director, Indian Oil Corporation and alumnus of CETAAC and IITM speaks about Mission Water and three simple steps that all of us can adopt to become self-reliant in water. Easy to implement, quick and cost effective.

๐Ÿ‘‰ย Catch the Rain where it falls, when it falls – Strive for harvesting every drop of rain water falling in our premises
๐Ÿ‘‰ย Avoid Roads becoming Drains – Minimise water loss from plots through flow to outside areas and roads
๐Ÿ‘‰ย Rain Harvesting within Storm Water Drains – Graded Gravel Pits distributed within the Storm Water Drains
